2018
DEAN GRIFFIN MEMORIAL AIRPORT VERTICALLY GUIDED APPROACH SURVEY
CLIENT: CITY OF WIGGINS

Tice Engineering was hired by the City of Wiggins to provide program management for a Vertically Guided Approach Survey funded through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP). The survey would provide the Dean Griffin Memorial Airport with global positioning system (GPS) navigational controls for planes flying in weather conditions with poor visibility. The municipal airport currently only has a beacon for pilots to use as a navigational aid, which limits the use of the airport to times with good visibility. The additional of GPS navigational aids will extend the operational times of the airport and increase traffic through the airport.

SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDED:
Submit a pre-application and final application with FAA for review and approval
Develop and advertise a RFQ for the Vertically Guided Approach Survey
Evaluation of Survey Professionals
Coordination with FAA
Program Administration for grant funding
