CAMP SHELBY PERIMETER FENCE AND AVENUE G ROADWAY REPAIR
CLIENT: ARMY NATIONAL GUARD

In an effort to completely secure Camp Shelby, the Mississippi Army National Guard hired Tice Engineering, Inc. to prepare plans for the overlay of Avenue G and the construction of a perimeter fence from the East Gate to C-17 Airfield. The Airfield is currently accessed by way of 46th Street, which is located outside of Camp Shelby’s East Gate. The proposed design utilizes 43rd Street, which is located inside the gate, and Avenue G to allow military personnel access to the C-17 Airfield and the new Deployment Readiness Center located on 46th Street. Avenue G is a World War II era roadway that has been closed for several years. The existing roadway will serve as a base to the new, wider Avenue G. Once Avenue G is improved, 46th Street will be closed at Lee Avenue and a new security perimeter fence will be constructed to secure the East Gate section of the base.
